Chinese New
Year is coming soon, in just two weeks! As usual, the weather becomes windy and
it is nice to walk your dog in the evening. But isn’t walking too boring?
Besides walking, there are plenty of time you guys can spend to do something
fun. Let us teach you how to train your dog to “Play Dead”!
1. First,
let your dog play, run and jump around, release some energy before we start.
After 5-10 minutes, give the dog and you a few minutes to relax so that he/she
will not get distracted easily while training.

2. Make
your dog lie down on somewhere comfortable, and also less distraction around.
Warm him/her up with easy commands such as “sit” or “sleep” or “lie down” (If
it does not want to follow the commands, do email us, we will see what we can
do to help).
3. Now, we
“bang”. Say “bang” to your dog with a gun-like gesture. At the same time, tell
him/her to lie down from sitting, roll over, and stay still.

4. You
should help him/her at the first few times (especially the staying still part),
make sure he/she understands what you are asking of him/her. Do not forget to
give him/her a treat to praise
him/her.
*Praising
our little fellows is always important as it will boost up their morale.
*Also, try not to show your treat to them during the training as they might be
distracted.
5. Next, repetitive
exercise. You need to make sure every time after you gave the signal he/she
will do the same, lies down and roll over.
6. After
he/she has locked the movements in his/her mind, stop using commands of “sit”, “roll
over” but instead just say “bang” with your gesture or signal.
7. Keep on
trying until you two get the best result. However, do not get disappointed when
your dog is not learning fast. After all, having fun should be the main reason
you guys doing this!

If you
tried, failed, I guess I know how your fail looks like.
Remember to
get out of your house and have some fun with your dog!
